The Birthday Party

Party Hat Kids Pictures, Images and Photos
I'm hosting a birthday party next weekend for Adonis. It will be here at home. I have a guest list of 59 people. So far 43 people have CONFIRMED they are coming. YIKES
Can I fit all those people HERE???
We are having the party out in the back yard. I orded 6 tabes & 48 chairs. We are grilling food, This is the first time some people will meet Adonis. It's going to be a bunch of family & some local friends. Should be very interesting.
I've never hosted anything like this in my own home before. I have nothing prepared, trying to get that done this weekend. I don't know if I should have games or what, I mean he's only 1. There will probably four 1 year olds, two 3 year olds and one 9 year old.

Some people are supposedly sleeping over. I only know of 4 that have confirmed with me & 4 other people haven't confirmed but I've heard from other sources that they are.
Family, family.
Jason & I are buying a safe this weekend. Is that bad when you have to lock up your things when distant relatives & friends are coming over, and you can't keep your eye on everyone.
Hey we are cool, but not that cool that I can trust my personal belongings around you. LOL
I'll update you all with how it goes.

The Beyonce Concert

My girlfriend Becky & I went out to the Beyonce Concert in Philadelphia on friday. It was awesome. I'm not a Beyonce fan, so I couldn't sing along to all her songs like the rest of the crowd, but I had a great time. I respect her so much as a perfomer. She was awesome. She had the crowd moving.

There were lots of people there. And people watching sure was funny.

Mostly women were there with their girls, or you had boyfriends with their girlfriends, or boyfriends with their boyfriends.

Ladies came with their with hooker heals, lingerie, prom dresses, flats, casual clothes, scrubs (yes someone was wearing scrubs, she knew she could've bought a change of clothes), all sorts of colors shapes and sizes, and ages.

The concert started at 7:40 (10 minutes late, no biggy). Then the lights went down & the crowd went wild, and started screaming so loud I thought I would go deaf (sign 1 that I'm getting old)

Then a group came on stage that looked just like Destiny's child, called Rich Girl. The crowd sat back down because they didn't know who they were.

Once the opening act got off stage, we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. I started getting hungry so I got a snack. Meanwhile outside by the vendors there was a party going on, drunk people everywhere, it was crazy. I felt bad. Especially because there were lots of kids there.

I sat back down after getting my fries, and turned to Becky and said I hope Beyonce comes on stage right now, no more opening acts. Next thing you know the lights went out, the stage lights came on & she started (yes 40 minutes later).

I had my brand new shoes on (no heels, I can't do heels & good thing I didn't) and I had to stand up in them for 2 whole hours. My feet hurt (sign #2 that I'm getting old). I did not expect to have to stand for the whole show. I thought people would sit down. Oh now I was wrong. I did have to take a break and sit down a couple of times.

Some cool points of the show were:

1.She sung Alanis Morrisett's "You Oughta Know "(and so did I, LOL)

2.She sung a Jamaican song, "No no no, you don't love me and I know now" & had the Jamaican flag on stage

3.She wasn't as small as I thought she would be, she had some hips & thighs & a booty, which made me feel good about my body (isn't that crazy, since Beyonce is a little thick I can be thick too. LOL)

4.She did acrobats in the air

5.She came around and touched her fans, even held somebodies child.

MJ Tribute

She talked about how Michael Jackson was a big part of her life, and how she wanted to be just like him. She said it was hard to perform that day. She sung his song "I can't help it." Her last words as she left the stage were "I love you Michael"

All-N-All Beyonce put on a great show, with her all female band. Whether your a fan or not you will like the show, and it's a fun thing to do with a girlfriend or boyfriend, or just friend in general.

Michael Jackson-Rest In Peace

Michael Jackson Pictures, Images and Photos
I'm in shock of Michael Jackson's death. He was the biggest pop icon of my time.
Only 50 years old, getting ready for his next tour.
I'm wondering if he went into cardiac arrest due to the strain on his body from rehersals.
Whatever the case may be. He has accomplished a lot.
And will always be the King of Pop. His music will live on.
We will miss you Mike.
My prayers go out to his parents, children, siblings, family & friends.

1 year home owners

It's been 1 year yall, since we got the keys to our home. It took 3 months to build.
This is my first time living in a house in my entire life. It took 29 years for me to live in a house. We are so happy.
After we got married, we were still living in our apartment, but were very determined to save money for a home. It took us over a year in savings but we did it.
When you are determined to do something, you can surely get it done.
We stopped going out to eat so much,
Stopped shopping for clothes we didn't need
We reduced our cable bill by getting rid of those extra channels
We got rid of our home phone
Got the same phone plan and had the minimum amount of minutes you can have on a family plan (still do)
There are probably other things that we reduced but I forgot.
I knew it would be all worth it in the end.
We even continue to save till this day.

We went to The Philadelphia Zoo. It was great. We had an amazing time. I love visiting the zoo.

Reminds me of Miami

He was quick on his feet, don't mess with him.

He has a long tongue

Don't know what this is but it was beautiful

Another one quick on his feet

It was a sleepy day at the zoo

I wouldn't mind doing a camel ride. Maybe next time.

The Children's Zoo was fun because we got to pet the animals

Adonis got his hand licked by this big guy

Can't wait to do it again next year

Joe the "ice cream man"

Late last night when I was watching Unwrapped on the Food Network, I see my ice cream man Joe Villardi, or as we call him Joe the Ice Cream Man.
He has been serving my hometown of White Plains, NY for over 50 years. Joe doesn't look like he's aged at all.
I remember hearing those bells that he would chime when he was on our street. I would race outside with my money to buy my ice cream. He also sold, jolly ranchers, blow pops, and all the candy you needed for days.
He sold all Good Humor ice cream. The ice cream I use to like were toasted almond (my favorite), Buffalo Bill which was a cowboy with a chocolate flavored cowboy hat, a vanilla flavored face & bubble gum as the nose(my favorite part, hehe) and the popsicle that was the colors red, white & blue (flavors cherry, lemon, and blue berry) yummy.
Here are some pictures of Joe the Ice Cream Man I found on the internet. Gotta love the internet, you can find anybody these days....

Did you ever go to the ice cream man as kid? What were your favorite ice cream?
